Dr. Ken Alford


Dr. Ken Alford came to serve as the Senior Pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church in May of 2005.  A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Alford is a graduate of Troy State University and earned both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  He began serving as a pastor in 1981, and served churches in that role in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida before coming to Crossroads.  A recognized leader among Southern Baptists, Dr. Alford’s denominational service over the past three decades includes the following positions: Member, Committee on Resolutions, S.B.C.; Chairman, Order of Business Committee, Georgia Baptist Convention; Trustee, Brewton-Parker College; Member, Executive Committee of the S.B.C.; Chairman, Board of Trustees of the North American Mission Board; President, Florida Baptist Convention; President, Florida Baptist Pastors’ Conference; Trustee, Baptist Sunday School Board (now LifeWay Christian Resources); President, Mississippi Baptist Pastors’ Conference; and Member, Committee on Committees, S.B.C.  Dr. Ken, as he is affectionately known by the Crossroads family, married the former Cynthia Johnson of Mobile, Alabama, in 1986.  The Alfords are the parents of Elizabeth Tucker, whose husband is Bernabe, and Andrew Alford, whose wife is Amanda.  Dr. Ken and Cynthia have one grandchild, Ronnie, who was born to Andrew and Amanda in 2016.
